Smooth Medda

November 12, 2008

The JLP mailbag got stuffed with a new issue of the oversized (and therefore, unfortunately, massively bent and folded) How To Spend It, an insert magazine from The Financial Times, which included a quick portrait of Design Miami director Ambra Medda. Now besides the fact that Ambra is cool and gorgeous and easy to photograph, this recent shoot was especially fun because I really enjoy the opportunity to photograph people again and again, usually in different contexts, because its great to try new things with people you've already established a bit of connection.

The last time I worked with Ambra was nearly 2 years to the day before for another across-the-pond client (Lufthansa), and that shoot was memorable for our access to an empty and amazing Moore Building, which is really the only really great historic building in Miami's often photographed but nearly always boring Design District. I guess to be fair, the Design District is very exciting for 2 weeks during the year, but yeah, almost dead the rest of the time, except for a few new-ish restaurants... but that's another story entirely.

So here are a couple more of Ambra, from the recent shoot and past. And if you are reading this, Ms. Medda, apologies that I wasn't able to get an image of you with your beloved Marc Newson fence into the magazine (seen below). Maybe next time!
